Queens-Midtown Tunnel

Elephants march through the Queens-Midtown Tunnel, closed to traffic so the circus could enter Manhattan. Weekdays, 3.4 million people commute to the central business district. Two-thirds use the tunnels, descending as many as 13 stories, then ascending into towers that draw life from the world below.
