Missing persons poster at Centro Scallabrini. Every year migrants
are victims of violent crimes including, murders, assaults, rapes and
burglaries. Family members from throughout Mexico come looking for
missing brothers or sisters, husbands and wives, usually without much
luck. Most migrants do not carry identification papers, and when killed
or found dead cannot be identified. They are usually buried in unmarked
graves in Tijuana's public cemeteries.
