The traditional farming methods of Appalachia is rapidly disappearing along with its lifstyle, and it's hard to find farmers who still use a horse and plow or a tobacco sled. Yet the steep hills of the region make machines impractical or impossible to use. Land often lays fallow because younger farmers don't care to resort to old-fashioned ways. (Tennessee) |
