Santiago, at the Palace de los Matrimonial. This couple has just been
wed by the Director of the Palacio-Maria Louisa Soto Mayor Tase and is now
posing for pictures in front of the building. The ceremony itself takes place
with both families standing around a table, while the couple seated at the
table sign a marriage certificate. Then everyone goes home to celebrate. The
actual process takes about 10 minutes. The Director told me that she usually
performs more weddings in the morning than in the afternoon, at the rate of
as many as 15 couples a day.
